How to Replace Firebird Trans Am or Camaro Carpet

Replacing the carpet in your car makes a huge difference in the way your car looks and smells! After I replaced the carpet in my car I wished I had done it long before. Here are the basic steps in replacing the carpet.

  1. Disconnect NEGATIVE battery cable

  2. Remove seats

  3. Remove console.

  4. Remove Shifter

  5. Remove seatbelts.

  6. Remove Rocker moldings

  7. Pullout old carpet and insulation

  8. Vacuum out the mess now left in the car.

  9. Place new carpet in car and align cutouts for seats, dimmer switch, seatbelts, and shifter (if there are not any carefully mark and cut the appropriate areas  in a U fashion).

  10. Some trimming may be required.

  11. Tuck the carpet in kick panels

  12. Reverse, re-install, vacuum carpet and enjoy!
